Home Away From Home

My Get Away

The Centers Of My Life

One hundred years from now, it will not matter. What kind of car I drove, What kind of house I lived in, How much I had in my bank account, Nor what my clothes looked like. But the world may be a little better, Because I was important in the life of a child.

If Ever You Need Me by Becky Williams

If ever you need me, I'll be right here, To chase away the sadness, And wipe away a tear.

If ever you need me, I'll be two steps behind, To follow in your footsteps, And hear what's on your mind.

If ever you need me, You'll never have to fear, That your presence isn't important, And your love isn't dear.

If ever you need me, I'll always be around, To bring back the laughter, Where deep in your heart it's found.

You'll never have to worry, For I'll always be here, To chase away the sadness, And wipe away a tear.

Time Passing In My Life

Me (Barbara Ann Rayette Maher Hampton)
Grade School
High School 1968
Became an LPN 1990.
Robin And Me 1997
Me 2001.

Let me introduce and tell you something about myself,so we can get to know each other. My name is Barbara A. Hampton, I live in a small borough in Northern Central Pa. I am a LPN (License Practicle Nurse), but more important I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother. My family is the most important part of my life.

Some of my favorite thoughts are:

Children are people too, and they have feelings.

The world wouldn’t be a world without children.

There is only one perfect person I know, and believe me it is not me.

My children are my world.

It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.

It is better to give then to receive.

Treat others like you want them to treat you.

Help someone whenever you can cause someday you might need help too.

The love of a child is worth a pound of gold.

A world without children would be worth nothing.

When someone we love dies we don’t lose them, they become angels on our shoulders.

God only gives us what we can handle.

It is better to smile than it is to frown.

Never look at the downside, always look at the bright side.

Don’t complain nobody wants to listen.

Think of your glass as half full not half empty.

Some of my favorite saying are:

Get you butt in gear and lets get a move on.

Your butt is grass and I’m the lawn mower.

You’re beginning to piss me off.

I love you bunches and bunches.

You’re my honey bunny boo.

Let’s cool it kiddo.

Amy dishwasher please.

Oh boy here we go again.

You got my German up and now you are working on my Irish.

Get on the bad girl or boy chair now.

You’re chaired till you are 29 years old.

Your smile is worth a million dollars to me.

Do as I say not as I do.

My Pet projects are:

Clover Hose Teener League Softball Team--- With the help of our local Clover Hose Fire Company, I started the teener girls softball team in 1988. My daughters, Candy and Dawn, with a lot of their friends, wanted to play and we had no girls softball team in our town. I have been there ever since and have gotten to watch a lot of girls grow and turn into wonderful adults.

Lower Anthracite Teener League Softball League--- I became involved with this when we formed our team. When the league was going to fold, I was talked into taking over only until they found someone to take charge. Well I am still here and still working, they still have not found someone I guess.

American Hose Community Ambulance--- I became involved in 1980. In 1981, I became an EMT (Emergency Medical Tech.) and ran with the ambulance until 1997. I was one of the first women to ever run with the ambulance. Back then it was thought that it was no place for women, we would be in the way and of no help. WE soon changed their minds. I was also the first women to serve on the main ambulance committee. I loved helping people in their times of need and I learned and saw lot of things, we had good times as well as bad, happy as well as sad. I would not give up these years for anything and I still miss them a lot. I also became an instructor for our local EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and was able to help train others to be EMTS, I also taught CPR classes in our area for years.

Clover Hose Fire Company--- Know as engine #3, has been part of my life since I was a child because my father was an active member. As soon as I was old enough, I joined as an auxiliary member. The most important thing we do is serve the firemen at big fires and help them in anyway we can. WE also help form drives for fire victims when needed. The fire company also decorates the fire truck with over 5000 lights at Christmas Time and we give out candy all over our coverage area. WE also have an Easter Egg Hunt for the children at Easter time , plus we take part in many other community projects.

Y.E.S.-- (Youth Exchange Service) I have been involved with this since 1988 ,when I took my first exchange student. In 1990, I became an area representative. I help find families for students and I help those students with any problems they might have while they are in our country. If the host families have any problems while the students are with them, they also come to me.

My page is about my life, my family, my children, my grandchildren, my exchange students, the exchange program, memorial page, pets, hobbies, favorite sayings, my pet projects, special interests, beautiful art work, animation’s, music, beautiful backgrounds, and fun and favorite links.
